Kitchen damaged by a leak? Get help from a team you can trust

Losing the kitchen is rough. Everything turns into takeout, the dishes end up in the bathtub, and the cabinets you liked start coming apart at the bottom.

Don't paint over the swelling or glue the toe kicks back on yet. First, we take a no-pressure look at the cabinets, counters and floor so you know what can stay. We come from our Norcross office to homes across Gwinnett and metro Atlanta, and we answer 24/7.

Can we help rebuild your kitchen?

Most likely. Kitchen leaks hide under the cabinets, so by the time you see them, the damage is usually wider than the spot you noticed first. We regularly see:

  • Sink-base cabinets swollen, bubbling or delaminating at the bottom
  • Water trapped under the toe kicks and behind the dishwasher
  • Hardwood or laminate warping and running under the island
  • A countertop that has to come off so the base cabinets can be replaced
  • Subfloor soft or stained under the sink after a slow drip

Save the failed hose, valve or supply line, and take dated photos before anything gets removed. That's your proof of when and how the leak happened. If the water is still there, start with appliance leak cleanup.

Fire-damaged kitchen before the rebuild

What our kitchen rebuild service includes

  1. Assessment. We take moisture readings and photograph cabinet bottoms, toe kicks and subfloor before tear-out. That's evidence for the claim.
  2. Save-or-replace calls. Each cabinet gets judged by its material and condition.
  3. Countertop removal. We support the top properly and plan ahead in case stone cracks during removal. It happens.
  4. Subfloor and wall repair. Rotted or soft sections come out and get replaced.
  5. Install. New cabinets, flooring and the countertop reset or replaced.
  6. Reconnection and testing. Plumbing and electrical go back in, with permits where lines move, and we leak-test the supply lines at the end.

Licensed plumbing and electrical work goes to licensed plumbers and electricians we subcontract and schedule, so you still have one contact. If only the floor was hit, see flooring repair.

What insurance-funded repairs cover, and what upgrades are yours to choose

Insurance typically pays to restore the kitchen to like kind and quality. That usually means comparable cabinets, counters and flooring in the same layout. A new layout, an island you didn't have or quartz in place of laminate are upgrades. You choose them, and they're priced and approved as separate line items.

Matching is the hard part. Say only the lowers were damaged. We check the cabinet line, door style and finish to see whether replacements are still made. If they aren't, we document it with photos and product details. That gives you something concrete to raise with your adjuster about the uppers or the island. We can't promise a match, and we can't promise your insurer will pay for undamaged cabinets.

Who will arrive, and how we determine what needs attention

Your rebuild is run by our on-staff general contractor, working under our Georgia contractor license. Georgia requires one for jobs over $2,500.

They'll read moisture inside the sink base, behind the dishwasher and in the subfloor, where water hides longest. In older kitchens, they check for asbestos in old sheet vinyl and mastic. If the home was built before 1978, they check for lead in paint before any demo. You get the readings and photos.

Clear information about pricing, documentation and next steps

What drives the price: how many cabinets are affected, what they're made of, whether the countertop comes off or gets replaced, subfloor damage, matching, plumbing or electrical changes, and upgrades. You approve a written, itemized scope first.

For the claim, we provide moisture readings, photos from before tear-out, an itemized estimate in the format adjusters use and records of discontinued products. We can't promise coverage or a match. How long you'll be without a kitchen depends on the scope and on cabinet lead times. We'll give you our best estimate once the scope is set.

If insurance pays less than the invoice, you're responsible for the difference. That's why documentation matters, and why it helps to use a company that works claims with every major carrier, like we do.

Vanity and walls ready for repairs

Questions people ask us

Can water-damaged cabinets be saved?

Sometimes. Solid wood boxes can often be dried out. Particleboard and MDF that have already swollen or started to delaminate usually don't go back to shape, so they get replaced. We check each cabinet before deciding.

Insurance will replace the lowers but not the uppers. Then nothing matches. What can I do?

Your policy wording decides it, and Georgia has no matching statute. We record the cabinet maker, door style and finish, and document it if the line is discontinued, so you can raise it with your adjuster in writing. Refinishing or new doors on the uppers are options some owners choose.

My dishwasher leaked for weeks before I noticed. Is that covered?

Maybe not. Many policies cover sudden water damage and exclude slow leaks or wear and tear. Keep the failed hose or valve and any photos with dates, because proof of a sudden failure helps. We can't promise coverage, but we'll document what we find.

Does the dishwasher or fridge warranty pay for the kitchen?

Usually not. An appliance warranty may cover the part that failed, but rarely the cabinets and floor around it. That damage normally goes through your homeowners policy.

How do I keep this from happening again?

Braided supply lines, a leak sensor under the sink and dishwasher, or an automatic shutoff valve on the main can help. A pan under the dishwasher helps too. And ask us to add any of these during the rebuild.
