Structural Drying & Dehumidification in Norcross, GA

The fans are loud, the house is warm, and nobody has told you when it ends or how they'll know it's dry. We dry walls, floors and framing to a measured standard, then show you the readings at every visit. If another company's equipment is already running, we'll look at what's being done.

Wet walls and floors? Get help from a team you can trust

Here's what the equipment is doing. Air movers push air across wet surfaces so water evaporates. Dehumidifiers pull that moisture out of the air so it doesn't soak back in. In a Georgia house, that matters.

The structure dries faster than it would on its own.

If drying is already underway with another company and you're not sure it's working, call us. We'll look at the setup and the readings and tell you what we see. If you need drying started, we answer 24/7 and send a crew from our Norcross office across Gwinnett and metro Atlanta.

Can we help dry out your home?

Yes. People usually call us when:

  • The room feels dry, but the walls still read wet
  • The hardwood is starting to cup or buckle at the seams
  • The floor above a wet crawl space is soft or smells musty
  • A concrete slab is slow to dry and the flooring can't go back yet
  • Fans have been running for days and no one has said when they'll stop

If there's still standing water, start with water extraction. Drying works best once the bulk water is out.

Moisture reading taken at the floor line

What our structural drying service includes

  1. We take baseline readings. We measure dry, unaffected materials in your house first. Those numbers become the target.
  2. We set equipment where the readings point. Air movers and dehumidifiers go in the wet areas. Wall cavities may get small vent holes, and hardwood may get drying mats.
  3. We monitor daily. Each visit, we read the wet materials, check temperature and humidity, and log it.
  4. We adjust the setup. As areas dry, we pull or move equipment so you aren't paying for units that are done.
  5. We remove equipment. Everything comes out once readings reach the dry standard.

Two things people ask. Keep the windows closed. In Atlanta humidity, outside air is often wetter than the air we're trying to create inside. And keep the equipment running unless we say otherwise.

Repairs after drying, like drywall or flooring, are a separate stage. We do them ourselves, or hand off to your contractor with the drying records.

Who decides when it's dry, and how do you know?

The readings do. Not the calendar. Not how the room feels.

A wall can feel dry to the touch while the cavity behind it is still wet, and carpet pad can hold water long after the fibers feel fine. We compare each wet material to the same material in a dry part of your house. When they match, that spot is dry.

You and your adjuster can see the log at every visit. Before you sign any completion form, from us or anyone else, ask for the final readings and make sure each area on the log reached its goal.

Who will arrive, and how we determine what needs attention

An IICRC-certified technician from our Norcross team handles the setup. They'll check every wet material with a thermal camera, moisture meters and a hygrometer and mark the edges of the wet area.

Equipment placement follows those marks. Exterior walls with wet insulation get different treatment than interior walls. Slabs and hardwood need specialty drying because they release water slowly. Every visit, the readings go into the log with the date, the spot and the material. We also walk you through anything that changed.

Clear information about pricing, documentation and next steps

Cost depends on what materials got wet, how wet they are, how many rooms are involved and how long readings take to come down. A drywall wall usually dries faster than a hardwood floor over a slab.

That's the plain truth.

Equipment is billed per day. That's why we adjust as areas dry instead of leaving everything in place. You'll get a written scope before work starts and approve it first.

Your electric bill will go up while dehumidifiers run. Some policies reimburse that increase and some don't, so keep a few prior months of bills to show the difference. We can't promise reimbursement.

For your claim, you'll get the full daily moisture log, photos of equipment placement and an itemized Xactimate estimate, the format adjusters use. We bill your insurer directly. We can't promise what your policy covers, or a set number of drying days. If insurance pays less than the invoice, you're responsible for the difference. That's why documentation matters, and why it helps to use a company that works claims with every major carrier, like we do.

Questions people ask us

How long does structural drying take?

There's no honest fixed answer. It depends on what got wet and how much. Drywall over a supply-line leak can come down in days, while hardwood or a concrete slab takes longer. We stop when the readings say it's dry.

Can I turn the fans off at night?

Please call us before you do. Shutting equipment off slows drying, and every extra day is another day of equipment. If the noise is a real problem in a bedroom, we can sometimes move or swap units.

Why is my house so hot?

Warmth speeds up evaporation, and dehumidifiers put out heat as they work. It's normal. If it's getting uncomfortable, tell us and we'll adjust what we can.

Can my hardwood floors be dried in place?

Often, yes, with drying mats and dehumidification, and some cupping relaxes as the wood dries. Sometimes boards have to come up if moisture stays trapped underneath. We'll show you the readings before that decision.

Drywall looks fine but your meter says it's wet. Is the meter wrong?

Pin meters can give false readings near metal like corner bead or screws, so we check against a dry wall of the same material in your house. If the wet reading holds up there, the wall really is holding water behind the paint.

Call about structural drying today

Tell us what got wet, when it happened and whether drying has already started with another company. If it has, a photo of the equipment and any readings you were given help. We'll confirm we can help, give you an arrival window and explain what we'll check first.
