Need repairs after mold removal? Get help from a team you can trust

You don't have to figure out the rebuild alone. An estimate from us comes without pressure, and we'll walk through what's open and what it takes to close it.

Before anyone patches anything, two cautions. Don't paint over stains. Paint on top of mold or water-damaged board peels, and it hides a problem you need to see. And don't let walls get closed until the remediation is verified and the framing reads dry. Closing a cavity too early traps moisture behind brand-new drywall.

We're in Norcross and rebuild homes across Gwinnett and metro Atlanta.

Can we help put your home back together?

Likely. Here's what people tell us when they call:

  • "The mold company finished and left us with open walls."
  • A bathroom or kitchen gutted after mold under the sink, with cabinets and counters pulled
  • A finished basement stripped to the studs after a flood cut at 24 inches
  • A sink base cabinet with a rotted floor that needs repair or replacing
  • A soft subfloor around a toilet that leaked for months
  • An older Gwinnett home where the new drywall has to match the existing texture and trim

If the mold hasn't been removed yet, start with mold remediation. Rebuild comes after.

Bathroom cleaned and ready for repairs

What our mold damage restoration includes

  1. Confirm it's ready. We review the remediation records or check the area ourselves: no visible mold, no musty odor, and dry readings in the framing and subfloor.
  2. Scope the repairs. We measure what was removed and write up the rebuild line by line.
  3. Insulation and drywall. New insulation, hung drywall, tape, mud and texture blended into what's already there.
  4. Trim and paint. Baseboard and casing matched as closely as current profiles allow, then primed and painted.
  5. Flooring and cabinets. Subfloor repairs, new flooring, and cabinet repair or replacement as the scope calls for.
  6. Final walkthrough. You check the work with us and get the full set of photos and records.

Optional upgrades while walls are open, like a better bath fan or better-matched flooring, are priced separately so they don't blur the claim. We pull the permits where required, under our general contractor's Georgia license.

Who removes the mold, and who rebuilds?

These are two jobs with different goals. Remediation removes contamination and dries the structure. Rebuild puts the house back.

Sometimes one company does both. Sometimes a remediator leaves and you're on your own to find a drywall crew, a painter and a flooring installer. If we did the removal, we carry the job straight through, since our general contractor is on staff and our crew does the drywall, flooring, cabinets, trim and paint. If another company did, we'll get their records and work from them.

Either way, repairs wait for two things: verification that the mold is gone and readings that show the materials are dry. That wait can feel long with open walls. It's frustrating. It's also what keeps you from paying for the same wall twice.

Wall cavities ready to be closed up

Who will arrive, and how we determine what needs attention

A project lead from our Norcross office will walk the space, look over any clearance or verification paperwork and take readings in the open cavities. If something isn't ready to close, we'll show you the number and wait.

In older homes, we also check before cutting more. Popcorn ceilings and some older joint compound can contain asbestos, and Georgia regulates how that material is handled. If the house was built in 1978 or earlier, we sample the material we're about to cut and send it to a lab first. You'll get the repair plan, with the materials and finishes listed, before work starts.

Clear information about pricing, documentation and next steps

Price depends on how much was opened up, what finishes are going back, how much matching is involved, whether cabinets or flooring need replacing, and whether permits are required. Patching a two-foot flood cut in one room is a different job from rebuilding a kitchen.

You'll get a written rebuild scope, separate from any remediation scope, and you approve it before we start. Upgrades are their own line items.

We provide photos, moisture readings, the verification record and an itemized Xactimate estimate for your insurer or a future buyer. Policies can handle remediation and rebuild differently, and mold cleanup often has its own cap. We can't promise what your policy covers. If insurance pays less than the invoice, you're responsible for the difference. That's why documentation matters, and why it helps to use a company that works claims with every major carrier, like we do.

Questions people ask us

Can a different company do the rebuild than the one that removed the mold?

Yes. Remediation and reconstruction are separate contracts, and you can split them. Ask the remediation company for its final photos, moisture readings and any clearance results, so whoever rebuilds knows the cavities were clean and dry.

Is mold-resistant drywall worth it?

It's a reasonable "put it back better" choice in a basement or bathroom. It won't stop mold if water gets in again, though. Fixing the moisture source does far more than the board does.

Do I need a permit to rebuild after mold removal?

It depends on the city and the work. Snellville, for example, requires permits for framing and drywall in an interior remodel, but not for paint, flooring, trim or cabinets. Lawrenceville requires permits for interior remodeling. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC work generally need permits, and we'll check the rules for your address.

Will insurance pay for the rebuild?

If the mold came from a covered sudden water loss, repairs are often part of the dwelling claim. Many policies cap the mold cleanup separately at a lower limit, and some insurers treat the two parts differently. Read your policy for a mold sublimit, and ask your adjuster how they'll handle each piece.

My subfloor is soft after a toilet leak. Do you replace the whole floor?

Usually not. Damaged subfloor is often cut back to the center of the nearest joists and patched with new plywood, and weak joists can be reinforced. We'll show you how far the soft area runs before quoting.
