Standing water in your home? Get help from a team you can trust

Stay out of the water if it's near outlets, power strips or appliances. Don't plug anything in to dry it. If the breaker panel is in a dry spot, you can switch off power to that area. If not, leave it and wait for us.

Then call. We answer 24/7 and send an extraction crew from our Norcross office across Gwinnett and metro Atlanta. While you wait, lift what you can off the wet floor and take photos.

Can we help with the water in your home?

Yes, if any of this sounds familiar:

  • The carpet is "wet like a sponge" and still squishes after a shop vac
  • Water has run under a wall into the next room or down the hallway
  • Water comes up through the seams when you step on laminate or vinyl plank
  • A finished basement has standing water across the floor
  • You ran fans for two days and the room still smells damp

If the water came from a toilet, a drain or outside after heavy rain, tell us on the call. That changes how we handle it. See sewage cleanup or flood cleanup.

What our water extraction service includes

  1. A quick assessment. We check where the water came from, whether it's clean or contaminated, and how far it's spread.
  2. Moving contents. Furniture goes up on blocks or out of the room so it doesn't wick water or stain the carpet.
  3. Bulk extraction. Truck-mounted or portable extractors pull water from carpet and hard floors. Deep water gets a submersible pump.
  4. Pressing out the pad. Weighted extraction squeezes water from carpet and pad that a shop vac can't reach.
  5. Checking underneath. Meters show what's trapped under laminate, vinyl plank or hardwood, and behind the baseboards.
  6. The salvage call. Based on the water type and how long it sat, we tell you whether the carpet can be lifted and dried, whether the pad needs to go, and what flooring may have to come up. If the carpet stays, we coordinate the final carpet cleaning through a partner company.

Extraction is the first stage. Structural drying usually follows with the same crew, because the water left in walls and subfloor is what causes trouble later.

Who removes the water, and who dries the structure?

We do both, but they're different jobs and they show up as different lines on your scope. Extraction gets the bulk water out. Drying handles the moisture already soaked into pad, the bottom of the drywall and the subfloor.

That's why a shop vac and a box fan rarely finish the job. Drywall wicks water upward, and pad holds it long after the carpet feels dry. A shop vac is fine for a small spill, but it's a poor bet for a wet room. When extraction is done, we set up dehumidifiers and air movers and keep checking until the readings come down.

If a plumber still needs to fix the source, we'll work around them and save the failed part for your adjuster.

Floor exposed after wet flooring was pulled

Who will arrive, and how we determine what needs attention

An IICRC-certified technician from our Norcross team will look at where the water started and identify the water type. Clean water from a supply line is handled one way. Water from a drain, a toilet or outside is handled another, and that decides what's safe to keep.

We measure past the visible wet edge, since water travels under flooring and baseboards. Before anything is removed, we'll tell you which items and materials are likely to make it and which probably won't, and why. No guessing game.

If you already got most of the water up yourself, still have it checked. A floor can look fine while the studs behind the drywall and the subfloor underneath are still wet, and that's how a water job turns into a mold job weeks later.

Clear information about pricing, documentation and next steps

The price comes down to how much area is wet, what kind of water it is, the flooring type and how much furniture has to move. Water on tile in one room is a short job. A finished basement with wet carpet and pad is bigger.

Before work starts, you'll get a written scope that separates extraction from drying, lists what's being removed and shows how equipment is billed. You approve it first.

For the claim, we photograph everything before it's removed and can keep carpet and pad samples if your adjuster asks for them. You'll get those photos, the readings and an itemized Xactimate estimate, the format insurers use. We bill your insurer directly. We can't promise coverage or that every carpet can be saved. If insurance pays less than the invoice, you're responsible for the difference. That's why documentation matters, and why it helps to use a company that works claims with every major carrier, like we do.

Questions people ask us

Can my wet carpet be saved?

Often, if the water was clean and it's caught quickly. The pad underneath usually has to be replaced because it holds water like a sponge. Carpet soaked by sewage or floodwater is a different story and generally goes.

Is a shop vac enough?

For a small, clean spill caught right away, it might be. For anything bigger, a shop vac leaves water in the pad and subfloor, which is why the carpet feels wet again the next day. That trapped water is what starts the musty smell.

Should I pull up the carpet myself?

Photograph everything first. Your adjuster will want to see the damage before anything goes to the curb, and they may ask for a sample. If you've already pulled it, keep a piece and the photos.

Can water under laminate or vinyl plank be saved?

Sometimes. It depends on the underlayment and how long it sat. Foam underlayment and stacked layers of old flooring usually can't be dried in place, so we check before promising anything.

Will insurance pay for water removal?

Extraction is usually covered when the cause is covered, like a burst pipe or failed supply line. Outside floodwater is covered only under a flood policy. We can't promise coverage, but we document everything for the claim.

Call about water removal today

Tell us where the water is, roughly how much, what kind of flooring it's on and whether the source has stopped. A photo helps. We'll confirm we can help, give you an arrival window and tell you what to move before we get there.
